What it’s really like being a tourist in Iraq 🇮🇶
If you ask me how much things cost in Iraq, I could not give you a proper answer. No lie, the kind local Iraqi people would always pay for us and many of times shop owners would give us stuff for free. I guess they just love seeing tourists in Iraq. This day was a prime example of how Iraq is a freeloaders paradise! Everyday we would wake up and have complimentary breakfast at the hotel we payed 55$ a night for, this was our biggest and one of our only expenses. We would go out and hit the streets of Baghdad and shop owners wouldn't charge us, tuktuks would refuse money and the friendly Iraqi people would invite us for tea or food and refuse we pay a dime. In the evening we would be invited for Dinner or a meal at the house of some of our local friends. We would later go out for tea and shish and of course they would not want us to pay a dime and get offended if we tried. Iraq has some of the kindest people on this planet and it is a shame that the country gets a bad rap in the media because it is a truly amazing country to travel to!
