By describing two categories - us, and our surroundings - this analysis highlights the opportunities that lie within spaces designed for the growth and well-being of human beings. Sarah Robinson is an architect, writer and professor. Her research concerns the many ways in which the built environment shapes the body, mind and culture. Among her many publications are 'Mind in Architecture - Neuroscience, Embodiment, and the Future of Design' and her recent book 'Architecture is a verb'.
