NOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker's personal views and understanding of nature, physiology, and healing. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t... We talk about endangered habitats as forests, reefs, or glaciers—but what if the most threatened ecosystem is the one inside us? In this poetic and science-informed talk, psychologist and futurist Dana Klisanin reveals how the decline of inner qualities like awe, attention, and imagination mirrors the loss of biodiversity in the natural world. Drawing on ecology, psychology, and the arts, she introduces “rewilding the mind”—a powerful, restorative practice that begins with three simple acts: notice, name, and nurture. Through personal story and cultural insight, Dana invites us to reconnect with the living world not only for its survival— but for our own. Because when we restore relationships, we don’t just heal ourselves. We ignite a global cascade of restoration—and flourish, together. The path forward is both ancient and urgent. Dana Klisanin — Psychologist, Futurist & Researcher Dana Klisanin, PhD, is a psychologist and futurist exploring a defining question of our era: as we spend more time in digital worlds, what happens to our inner lives—and how can we stay whole? She is the founder of ReWilding: Lab, where she designs immersive programs that blend nature connection, creative expression, and embodied practice. These experiences help people restore balance, reignite imagination, and recover a sense of belonging. Her work directly counters digital saturation by reconnecting people with what makes us fundamentally human. Dana's research has been published internationally and presented at conferences on psychology, technology, and human potential. As an interdisciplinary artist, she uses creative practice not only to communicate ideas, but as a tool for transformation itself. She challenges the false choice between digital progress and nature-based wisdom—inviting us to build lives where both humanity and the planet can thrive. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
