MUHAFIZ means the protector or safekeeper. With Muhafiz we aim to revive the soulfulness of Urdu poetry that dates back hundreds of years. We wish to bring to life the rustic emotion encapsulated in these 'ghazals'. Even though these ghazals were written more than a hundred years back, we believe that they are very well capable of evoking a relevant emotion for the listener even today! And it's the timelessness of this treasure that we want to safe-keep by making the audiences aware of their existence. Our first EP has three songs that signify the three stages of a romantic relationship - from the moment you realise you are falling in love to post break-up. "Jaana Kahan hai" is the first song of the EP. The song is that feeling when you know you have fallen for someone but is it really what you think it is? Is it really heading that way? No can't be!
