Alien vs Predator is a funny fps game and one of the first in its genre introducing different "classes": aliens, predators, and the colonial marines. The predator is by far the strongest character available to the player, being both tanky and armed to the teeth. All of its signature attacks, techs and weapons are present in the game, including: claws, shoulder cannon, discs, night vision, electric vision, x-ray vision, spear rifle and some new toys like a pistol extremely overpowered, often banned from online competition, very useful in the dark, underground mazes infested by xenomorphs. Speaking of xenomorphs, they are instead very fun to control, with unmatched mobility. During their story modes both humans and predators will face some different aliens as well: the classic facehugger, which is an istant death if it grabs you, the new and deadly xenoborg created by humans, and the devious alien queen as the final boss for both. The single player campaign isn't very long but it's pretty intense. My favourite part has to be the third level, where the predator controlled by the player descends in the depths of the marines base only to find a xenomorphs outbreak. On the horror side, the game is no Alien Isolation, but it was pretty scary on release. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alien vs Predator è un divertente sparatutto in prima persona, tra i primi ad introdurre nel genere il concetto di differenti ruoli: ci sono i marine, gli alien ed i predator per l'appunto. Il predator è decisamente il personaggio più forte che il giocatore possa controllare, essendo sia molto resistente che armato fino ai denti. Tutti i suoi caratteristici attacchi, armi e tecnologia annessa, sono stati inclusi nel gioco: artigli, cannone da spalla, dischi, lancia che diventa fucile da cecchino, visore ad infrarossi, visore elettrico, visore ai raggi x, e persino alcune cose nuove come una pistolina elettrica incredibilmente potente, spesso giustamente esclusa dal gioco online, estremamente utile nei corridoi dei labirinti sotterranei infestati da xenomorfi nel buio pesto. A proposito degli xenomorfi, sono molto divertenti da controllare, con una mobilità senza rivali. Durante le loro campagne sia umani che predator dovranno affrontare anche alcune varianti del classico alien: la classica larva chiamata facehugger in inglese per ovvie ragioni, che se ti salta in faccia provoca game over istantaneo, il nuovo e letale xenoborg, empia unione di carne e metallo creata dagli umani, e la feroce regina alien, boss finale per entrambi. La campagna per giocatore singolo non è lunga ma è particolarmente intensa. La mia parte preferita è probabilmente nel terzo livello, quando il predator controllato dal giocatore scende nelle profondità della base dei marine, solo per trovare un'invasione di xenomorfi in corso.
