We hereby present to you the pasurams of Thirumangai Azhwar dedicated to Sri Veeraraghava Perumal of Thiruvallur, a revered Divya Desam. The presiding deity, Sri Veeraraghava Swamy, is in a reclining posture with his right hand resting on Salihotra Rishi, who performed penance here and was blessed by the Lord Himself to remain enshrined at this holy place. Thiruvallur holds a special place in Sri Vaishnava tradition, an interesting and unique feature of this temple is that the Moolavar is adorned with a red-white checked vasthram up to his chest. Sri Veeraraghava Perumal is also worshipped as Vaidya Veeraraghavar, believed to cure ailments of all devotees who, with faith, bathe in the sacred temple tank. It is with devotion that we present Thirumangai Azhwar’s pasurams in the form of Ragamalika, seeking the blessings of Sri Veeraraghava Perumal. This is our humble attempt to render the pasuram, inspired by the beautiful composition of Sound Creed. We gratefully acknowledge their original version and offer this as a small devotional effort.
