Take a hike along The Lost Trail to Heart Lake, a stunning alpine route deep in Colorado’s Rio Grande National Forest near the headwaters of the Rio Grande River. This video covers our hike on Trail #821 (Lost Trail) to the junction with Trail #823 (Heart Lake Trail), and up the #823 trail, leading to a quiet 16-acre alpine lake just below 12,000 feet. We started at the Lost Trail #821 trailhead, located near the Rio Grande Reservoir in the San Juan Mountains between Creede and Silverton.
