Testing the Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 eight core CPU in 9 popular and demanding games in 2023, using an RTX 3070 discrete GPU. Intel’s first 14nm 8 Core actually launched 2 years before the i9-9900K; the Xeon E5-2667 v4 was intended for server and workstation applications, and as such isn’t really intended to be competitive with modern gaming CPUs. However, the used server CPU market is thriving and there are more and more options for socket 2011-3 motherboards in 2023, so gamers on a budget could be forgiven for being interested in the 2667 v4 as a cheap option. Is there enough pedigree here to make this not only good value, but good in general?
