The full weekday service pattern for all rail service that serve multiple stations on the ECML railway route from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh/Leeds. This is the new service pattern with the ECML timetable recast in December 2025, with this video providing a general overview of the standard weekday service pattern. All operators services are included when they operate at least 1 weekday service between at least 2 stations located on the official East Coast Main Line route along with selected additional services. Note that services which only serve a single ECML station but do not actually travel along the ECML track are not included. Only the service pattern for the standard weekday working timetable are included, on weekends or when planned engineering work takes place an amended alternate timetable/station calls may be in operation. Note that hourly service frequencies are slightly off pattern in some hours or may be missing in certain hours of the day however a general 1tph pattern applies. Some limited services/station calls may operate in one direction only. 2 Hourly services shown operate a 1tp2h have additional services in certain hours or may have service gaps of up to 3 hours at certain times. Limited and irregular services operate at a general frequency of less the 2 hourly and/or only operate at the start/end of service. For all service pattern routes shown some services may not operate the full length of the route towards the start and end of a days services meaning only part of the route is service by the frequency shown (e.g. a daily LNER Edinburgh service terminating at Doncaster and Newcastle). The full routes of services that operate entirely on the ECML are included and the parts of other routes that operate on the ECML are included with arrows indicating the service continues on the rail network beyond the ECML.
