We’re Raúl, Lucy, and Daniela, a Puerto Rican family documenting our Disney vacations, cruise adventures, and park planning tips. 🎥 In this vlog: We’re spending Day 5 of our Disney Magic Southern Caribbean cruise exploring Dominica, visiting Mero Beach on an official Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure, and learning about the island’s history and culture. Welcome to Day 5 of our Disney Magic Southern Caribbean cruise. Today we visited the beautiful island of Dominica, one of the most unique and vibrant stops on our itinerary. We booked an official Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure that took us to Mero Beach, a black sand shoreline surrounded by volcanic rock and lush mountain views. It ended up being one of the calmest and most relaxing beach days of the whole trip. We started the morning watching sea turtles and the pilot boat arrive, then met our guide Brenda who shared Dominica’s rich history, culture, and the traditions of the Kalinago people. The drive to the beach offered incredible views of coastal cliffs, mountains, and villages that reminded us of the southwest coast of Puerto Rico. Once we arrived at Mero Beach, the water was warm and clear, and with only about 20 to 30 guests on the excursion, we nearly had the entire shoreline to ourselves. After returning to the Disney Magic, we enjoyed the afternoon in the Concierge Lounge, took in stunning views of the island, and learned more about Dominica’s geography, Catholic history, and indigenous roots. We finished the evening with semi-formal night dinner, a giraffe towel animal surprise, and plans to watch Tangled before calling it a night.
