Ernst-Jan Kuiper explains in his talk that Extinction Rebellion (XR) recognizes the urgency and threat of the climate and ecological crisis. He also argues that non-violent, direct action is the best method we have to get our government to act on this crisis, which they have been ignoring for decades. Ernst-Jan Kuiper did a master in climate physics and studied the Greenland ice sheet for five years. He is also one of the spokespersons for Extinction Rebellion Netherlands – an organization that wants to force the government to act on the climate and ecological crisis by non-violent, disruptive action.
