Hi there my fellow apprentice. In this video I will be using tinted watercolor pencils to paint a lion. This composition is a representation of the Leo zodiac sign. The second painting in a series I have decided to due based on a recommendation by one of the channel’s valued viewers. This is a SUPER easy, and beginner friendly painting. I have been out of practice for a while now, and wanted to jump back in with something that was really simple and could be painted by anyone. There are several techniques that I felt I needed to revisit and practice more, so I did so in this video. Although, this painting doesn’t include a lot of details, I do believe it gives a basic blueprint to use in order to push a painting to be something really good. This set of tinted watercolor pencils was something I picked up off Amazon as an alternative to Derwent Graphitint pencils, and it is my opinion that they work really well. They lend to creating a really moody atmosphere in your paintings. I will have a review coming up soon on the pencils. I just want to get just a bit more use and experience with them before offering my findings. So be sure to stay tuned for that video coming out in the next couple of uploads. I am also using a white gel pen, and a brush from my Pagos watercolor kit. That set is also in the testing phase and should have a review coming sooner than later. As I mentioned before I am out of practice in this video, and it proved to me something I already knew all to well. That is that practice makes perfect. So if you can, be sure to try to get in a painting everyday. Even if its just something easy and simple. Once you start following out of practice it can be hard to get your work back to the level you feel it should be. Nonetheless, I decided to share this video with the channel’s viewers anyway. It’s an important lesson I think in reinforcing the fact that we can all have a not so good day of painting. More so, that we all go through artist blocks from time to time. It’s okay. Just never give up and never stop painting. Overall, I think the composition turned out okay for a beginner painting. I hope that viewers can really pick up on something done in the video that will help further your art experience and journey.
