Eldoret witnessing a boom of malls as it anticipates city status

In the anticipation of becoming city, Eldoret town is witnessing a hasty sprouting of malls, spread across the fast growing town. However, with the idle malls that are dotting Nairobi, for instance, there remains the concern that investors may put up buildings that end up without occupants. This means that their setting up of the buildings will amount to setting themselves up for losses. Gabriel Kudaka takes us to the city of champions where the County Government of Uasin Gishu is seeking to avert this economic frustration through regulatory policies to control planning of the town.
