Longfield Community Hospice is expanding its Hospice at Home service which provides specialist end-of-life care for families across Gloucestershire. In the last year, the Minchinhampton-based hospice has recruited and trained 12 new staff members, meaning more care teams are out on the roads, caring for more families. The installation of a new patient records system has dramatically improved communications with other healthcare professionals, as well as patient care. Jennie, from Tetbury, was supported by Longfield when her husband, Jerry, received a devastating diagnosis. She told Stroud Times: “People think hospice care is sad, I would say the opposite.
