The Dassault Rafale C of the French Air Force displaying a fantastic range of dynamics at the RAF Cosford Air Show 2022. The pilot, Capitaine Bertrand 'Bubu' Butin, is from the Escadron de Transformation Rafale 3/4 Aquitaine. This is an Operational Conversion Unit (OCU) of the French Air and Space Force (Armée de l'air et de l'espace) flying the C model of the Dassault Rafale, which is based at BA 113 Saint-Dizier – Robinson Air Base. Bubu switches between rapid and aggressive sequences. To complete the spectrum of fast and slow sequences, the pilot elegantly halts the Rafale for a manoeuvre known as the high alpha, making the aircraft appear to be hovering. The aircraft is probably doing speeds of 90-110 knots, which is pretty fast but yet it looks like it is just surfing in slow motion. The Rafale does have likeness to the Eurofighter Typhoon in both design and its role. The Rafale is a permanent QRA aircraft, which is what the Typhoon does here, in the UK. They have similar wingspans too though the Typhoon is slightly wider (about 10cm).
