A veggie burger or lentil patty is one of my favorite meals. They are very tasty and nutritionally rich, and it is very convenient that they can be frozen, which is why I always have them in the freezer. That way, I don't get the chance to eat something just in a hurry, maybe unhealthy, when I don't have time to cook. With these patties, you can prepare great burgers that will certainly appeal to meat lovers. In the video I explain how they can be frozen and how you can make them more attractive to children. INGREDIENTS: 250 g of dry green lentils 2 large carrots 2 large or 3 small red onions 4 cloves of garlic 120 g of walnuts 70 g of sunflower seeds 140 g of flour 120 g of bread crumbs 2 tablespoons of chive seeds 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds 200 g of tomato concentrate 15 g of salt organ a little pepper slayka red pepper turmeric water PREPARATION Soak 250 g of green lentils overnight. In the morning, rinse the lentils and add just a little hot water, just to cover them. Cook the lentils for about 15 minutes until they are well cooked. If you have a little water left in the lentils, you have to squeeze it out so that your burgers are not too soft and fall apart later. You need a small blender or vegetable chopper. Put two large carrots in the blender, but chop them into smaller pieces so they are easier to chop. Add 3 small or 2 large red onions and 4 cloves of garlic. Chop everything finely to get small pieces of vegetables, but do not let it turn into mush. Also chop 120 g of walnuts in the blender. Do not chop them too much like for cookies, because you need to feel a little walnut under your teeth. Also chop 70 g of sunflower seeds, the same as the walnuts, just briefly so that the seeds can be felt when eating burgers. Take 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and make a so-called chia egg by grinding the seeds in a coffee grinder and adding 5-6 tablespoons of water to them. Stir and wait 1 minute and add that to the bowl as well. If you don't have a grinder to grind hemp seeds, you can use them whole, also soaked in water, but then you need to soak them for maybe 15 minutes beforehand. Add 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds to the bowl. Hemp is not mandatory, but I always add it. Add 120 g of breadcrumbs and 140 g of flour. Add 200 g of tomato concentrate and 15 g of salt. For spices, I add a lot of oregano, pepper, sweet red pepper and turmeric. Mix all this well and leave the mixture in the fridge for about half an hour. After that, shape the mixture into burgers of the desired size. I shape larger burgers but also some small ones to make them more appealing to children. I put most of these burgers in the freezer because it's very practical. When I don't have time to cook, I just quickly take the burgers out of the freezer and fry them in 10 minutes. I fry fresh burgers for 3 minutes on each side, and when frying frozen ones, you need to fry them a little longer and at a lower temperature so that the middle also thaws. It is also better to fry them covered. You can also bake the burgers in the oven, but they will be a little dry because there is no fat in them. They will still be very tasty.
