In a landmark judgment nearly nine years after Sushant Rohilla’s death by suicide, the Delhi High Court has put into motion sweeping reforms for higher education institutions across India—redefining how colleges handle attendance shortages, mental health, and student grievances. Sushant Rohilla, a third-year law student of Amity Law School, died by suicide in 2016 after being barred from exams due to attendance issues. What began as a single case has now led to nationwide directives that could transform the student experience in universities and law schools.
