From October 20 to 29, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI) conducted a virtual assessment of Ghana’s political environment ahead of the December 7 elections. NDI and IRI met with key stakeholders from political parties, citizen observer groups, the media, the Electoral Commission, and civil society organizations. In an election watch report, NDI and IRI released a set of findings and recommendations from the assessment on November 2. The International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute and the National Endowment for Democracy hosted Ghana's 2020 Elections: Countdown to Election Day on November 19 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. ET / 15:30-16:30 GMT to discuss the findings of the joint IRI and NDI pre-election report and the current political environment in the final stages of election preparations.
