Seems like a simple game, typical of the time, but controls and items I actually needed to look up a bit of info on, and even still, double tap to run, I've never been good at this in games, but the double jump is also rather difficult to do, compared to much later games when double jumping became a more standard thing. But also I had trouble jumping off of vines, to get clear of them, spending too much time falling back down instead of landing on the ledge. Using items was okay once I knew how. But the real killer for what could have been a decent game are several things, the juggling that enemies can do to you once you get hit, bouncing you around all over, but I will say this, unlike other games where juggling is also a thing, at least this one still allows you to attack while being tossed about. Also, the collision detection is questionable, seems much wider than it appears. The other major issue, you walk at the front of the screen, thus don't have much time to react, to see enemies... what is this guy, near-sighted? The sprites are okay for the time, the music meh, the multiple paths is fine for some differences for multiple playthroughs, and the magic spells are a useful addition to the sword attacks, but gameplay definitely could have used some working on still, those flaws are pretty bad. Yeah, so to me, not a very good game, could've been, but to me it failed.
