A Cold Day at the Cabin

This was my first winter visit back to the off-grid cabin, about two months after it was built. It was a cold, snowy day. Inside, the cabin was still unfinished and uninsulated, with the framing continuing to dry. I tried putting up temporary tarp walls near the ceiling to help the wood stove heat the space more effectively, but the results were modest at best. The stove ran steadily, the temperature came up a bit, and I made some coffee while the snow fell outside. There’s still a lot left to do, but this trip was mostly about checking in on the cabin and spending a quiet winter day in the woods. Future visits will focus on insulation, and continuing work on the interior. Thanks for coming along.
