Here's another of my bashes at playing songs either written by or performed by Todd Rundgren. This is 'Dust In The Wind' off the ever so fantastic Todd album 'Something / Anything'. 'Dust' was written by the late Mark 'Moogy' Klingman, It's a relatively simple song and is great fun to play and sing along to (I've spared you my singing so be thankful!). This is my guitar version but I've also posted a ukulele version. The intro starts with a B maj chord (you may not recognise it from my weird finger angle. I also play A maj with just 2 fingers so look out for that too). The verses start with F#min and start descending.. The second chord in the chorus is an A maj but with a D min bass note. Try to make sure you don't strum the bottom E string or the top E string, you only want to hit the middle 4 strings when playing this chord. Other chords are fairly straightforward apart from one in the bridge! I don't know what it's called: 1st string 4th fret, 2nd string 3rd fret, 3rd string 4th fret and 4th string 3rd fret. The quick progression into each chorus also has unknown chords to me. It goes A maj, then play a normal A minor shape but play it at the 3rd fret and then slide quickly with the same shape to the 5th fret. That's note quite how I played it on the vid but it works just as well and is probably slightly easier. Once again, don't bother posting comments that I've missed out the D minor pentatonic ghost note on the 4th stanza of the repeating harmonic node. I recorded this for simple folk like myself who just play for fun, so there! Hope it helps someone. As mentioned, check out my uke version too. Have fun.
