Xiaomi CR6608 is a Wi-Fi6 AX1800 Router with 4 Gigabit Ethernet Ports. Besides the CR6608 which was made for China Mobile, there are also CR6606 (China Unicom) and CR6609 (China Telecom). The router is powered by the MediaTek MT7621AT with 256MB DDR3 RAM and 128MB NAND. OpenWRT support for the Xiaomi CR660x was added by InfWang and migrated into OpenWRT master on Feb 2, 2022. The way to install OpenWRT on the Xiaomi CR6608 is simple and doesn’t required hardware modification. However, you will need a router running OpenWRT to proceed.
