A recording of our first ever live on-line Dhamma Group! Here's the announcement: Today we will officially begin our weekly live Dhamma Group with audio and video via Google+ Hangouts. The meeting starts at 2 PM UTC and will go until it's finished. The proposed schedule is as follows: 1. Dhamma Friends - let us know about yourself 2. Dhamma Recital - taking refuge and precepts 3. Dhamma Sharing - sharing something with the group (optional) 4. Dhamma Study - taking turns reading from a dhamma text 5. Dhamma Practice - group meditation practice How To Join? =========== Join by visiting my Google+ profile (https://plus.google.com/1180149544149...) and looking for the Hangout post, subject to the following restrictions: Only ten people can join the group at one time. This is a technical limit imposed by Google, but probably well and good, since it will keep the group manageable. It does mean, obviously, that space is limited to whoever joins first, except... You need to be in my circles to join the group. Given the limited number of seats, and in order to make it most productive, I'm hoping to limit participation to people who have a genuine interest in the Buddha's teaching and not likely to cause a disturbance to the group. If you would like to join, please send me a message via Google+ telling me what you think you could bring to the group, and I'll add people to my circles as seems appropriate. You need a webcam, a microphone and a fast Internet connection to participate. Again, given the limited space, I'm going to impose this as a restriction - please don't join the hangout if you just want to listen, because... If you can't join due to any of the limitations above, don't fret; the Dhamma Group will be broadcast live via my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.come/yuttadhammo), so you can head on over there and join at least passively. I know some people were reluctant about the idea of broadcasting to YouTube, but it seems the only way to realistically accommodate the number of people interested in this idea.
