The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever." This dunya is not our true home; it is a test. If we become too attached to it, we risk losing sight of our true purpose: seeking the pleasure of Allah and striving for the eternal reward of Jannah. Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) warned: "The heart will never find peace until it turns to Allah alone, seeking His pleasure." No matter how much we gain in this world, if our hearts are not focused on Allah, we will remain restless and unfulfilled. The more we chase worldly desires, the more disconnected we become from the true source of peace and contentment. Ibn Qayyim (RA) also advised: "The one who chases after the dunya will be chased by it, while the one who chases after the Hereafter will find it." When we focus solely on the dunya, it pulls us deeper into its distractions, leaving us in a constant state of dissatisfaction. But when we focus on the Hereafter, we gain contentment, peace, and an eternal reward. The advice is clear: Do not get lost in the chase for the dunya. It is a trap that will only leave you empty and disappointed. Redirect your focus towards what truly matters — the pursuit of Allah’s pleasure and the eternal rewards of Jannah.
