This is one of the longest lasting peyote retreats in the US (if not the oldest) that isn't native American specific. I'm going to write 2 short reviews below, 1 for the place itself and 1 for the peyote experience The peyote way church of god as far as serene, hospitable and peaceful place is very comfortable and very good for the soul. no TV or wifi signals, lots of books and you can't leave the grounds once you're there (which is actually a very good thing, avoiding modern distractions). its wonderful to talk to other guest and take in the surroundings, lots and lots of different birds, beautiful views but rather warm/hot and bring bug spray (as a side hire the gnats don't stay away because of it and that was annoying). the house is at the end of the video but i couldn't narrate as people were still sleeping. the peyote tea itself ....doesn't taste nearly as bad as I was led to believe but will cause vomiting for most as it did for my companion. the 24 hours fast before consuming is a good idea to stick to. neither one of us hallucinated however we both God weird middle of the head headaches and slept horribly afterwards in our rooms . Because of the fast of 24 hours plus the tea drinking you will go 27+ hours without food and its hard to start reloading your body. they provide beans and Ramen but I brought non bread and bananas and I'm glad i did.
