Today we are going to be showing you how to install Openmediavault 5 on Raspberry Pi 4. This is episode 5 of our Raspberry Pi Series. If you haven’t followed our other episodes please do this first to catch up with where we are today (Optional). Note: You need to have the Raspberry Pi OS Lite (Legacy) version installed which is based on Raspberry Pi OS Buster. This is because OMV5 is not supported in the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye only the latest OMV 6 is compatible with it. To date (Updated 24th December 2021) it is recommended to use OMV 5 as it is the only stable version. This is very important! as the OMV script, we use in episode 5 will install Openmediavault 6 (OMV 6) on the latest Raspberry Pi Os version based on Debian Bullseye. However, if you like to live your life on the bleeding edge, by all means, install the latest Raspberry Pi OS based on Bullseye and use OMV 6 all other guides in our Episodes should work absolutely fine.
