As the SICvantage® max implant was being developed, priority was given to its macro design. The Schilli Implantology Circle expressed the need for an enhanced primary stability in bone quality 3 – 4 whereas implant insertion torque should remain below 35 Ncm in bone quality 1 – 2. Ultimately, the SICvantage® max implant together with a highly progressive SIC drill system enable the surgeon to achieve ideal primary stability and insertion torque in almost all bone qualities. The basic shape of the implant is cylindrical although the implant core and thread morphology combined with the slightly convex implant shoulder mimics the natural tooth design and is therefore ideal for immediate implantation. A decompression zone was incorporated in the crestal emergence area which passes over into the integrated “platform switching”. These are construction details that improve the preservation and long-term stability of the peri-implant tissue. Like all SIC invent implants, the implant body has the proven “SICmatrix” surface. The implant/abutment connection is conical and designed as a Morse taper with our “Swiss Cross” index. The Morse taper, with a total cone angle of 2.8°, leads to outstanding self-locking between implant and abutment, which is indissoluble or „cold-welded“. The large cone length of 3 mm distributes the pressure and bending forces uniformly and deeply in the implant and surrounding bone. The welding process produces a virtually one-piece implant, with maximum rigidity and practically no micromovement. The SICvantage® Swiss Cross has a 4 groove index which ensures a precise anti-rotation mechanism and extremely high torques can also be transmitted with this. These mechanical properties of the Morse taper enable to be used with or without a screw for prosthetic restoration Easy removal of the abutment is ensured by a special instrument – the extractor.
