Old J Spiced Rum Review and Mixer Pairing. Is it the New, Old Recipe Sailor Jerry?! I’m on a mission to find my favourite Spiced Rum and make up some great Spiced Rum Cocktails Recipes. Every month there are new Spiced Rum Brands trying to be the Best Spiced Rum on the market. So each week, I bring you a new Spiced Rum Review and find out which Spiced Rum Mixers work well. Does it work as a Spiced Rum and Coke? In this Video I give you a short review of why this ‘Rum’ was really important to me…and a lot of other Sailor Jerry Fans…back in the early 2010s. It's all to do with Sailor Jerry changing their recipe. I also take a look at what you can mix with Old J Spiced. Does it work well with Coke and Ginger Beer? What is the best Mixer for Old J Spiced? Of course, I have to point out, Old J can’t legally be classed as a Spiced Rum…which is a massive shame…because of the ABV. It’s only 35% and in the UK it has to be a bare minimum of 37.5%. While in the US it has to be 40%. This was the Rum that was supposed to fill the void left by the old Sailor Jerry from pre-2010, when Sailor Jerry changed their recipe. But did it do that? Did it meet the expectations?
