Video Game Trends are Boring Now

Over the last few console generations, the gaming industry has changed at a rate never before seen. As part of these changes, trends have emerged as developers and publishers attempt to leech off the coattails of other successful titles. I have identitified two major types of trends as those created due to hardware and development innovations, and those created for the sole purpose of making money. Throughout the video, I go over the history of some notable gaming trends, and express why I believe that the current trends we are seeing are ultimately detrimental to the industry at large.
