First interstate lungs donation and transplantation in Eastern India through Donate Life from Surat

First lungs transplant of Eastern India region at Kolkata with the donation of lungs from Surat through Donate Life from United Green Hospital. This was first interstate lungs donation and transplantation in Eastern India. In Gujarat since last 21 days, organ donation from five brain dead patients was done through Donate Life which gave new life and vision to twenty five people across the country. With this donation till date 404 Kidney, 170 Liver, 36 Heart, 18 Lungs, 8 Pancreas and 306 Corneas donation was done from Surat through Donate Life which gave new lease of life and vision to 865 people across the country and the globe. Amidst the difficult times of COVID 19 pandemic when there was decrease in the ratio of Cadaveric Organ Donation in India, Donate Life has been able to persuade the donation of 44 Kidney, 25 Liver, 10 Heart, 16 Lung, 1 Pancreas, 42 Corneas, total donation of 137 Organs and Tissue which gave new life and vision to 127 people across India and Globe. We salute the family members of Late Manishbhai Pravinchandra Shah for their brave decision to donate the vital organs of their beloved one after doctors declared him brain dead. Lungs transplantation was done at Medica Superspeciality Hospital Kolkata. Liver and Kidney transplantation was done at IKDRC Ahmedabad. Corneas were donated to Lok Drashti Chakshu Bank.
