Barn Find 1940 Ford Truck Build – A Disastrous Rust Discovery Changes Everything…. For the Better

In this episode of the Barn Find 1940 Ford Truck Build, we dig into the original 1940 cab, starting with the firewall. Things were looking good until we uncovered a serious rust problem running across the upper roof seam. What started as a simple repair quickly turned into a big roadblock. After getting a large quote for rust repair, we made the call to replace the cab entirely with a much cleaner 1947 Ford cab (the same style used from 1940–1947). Once the swap was done, we fitted the doors and used a porta power hydraulic press to get the hinges adjusted and aligned properly.
