LQ = La Quinta BWC = beautiful wash canyon My 3rd round doing this exploration hike, today I learned if anyone is going to hike it, since it's now March, a 32oz water bottle is not going to be enough considering how difficult this hike will be. You should plan on bringing a 64oz camel back if you're going to hike between March - August. The most messed up situation you'll ever experience hiking is when you run out of water, and it's exactly what happened on my way back. OMG! from now all the way to August I'll be using my 64oz camel back if the hike is going to be around 5 miles distance. But if it's only around 3 miles then my 32oz water bottle will be fine. On the last video where I'm panning right to left, it's the plateau after free soloing number 20. It's the paradise area and climax of this whole difficult hike and the reason why it's worth seeing this spot. What makes this the most beautiful wash canyon at the Cove? I can't help associating the Garden of Eden where there's an incredible view of the waterfall and a pond four feet deep crystal clear. The ground cover plants all green with flowers, an environmental jungle of shrubs with a slow gliding creek, it was stunning and gorgeous (jaw dropping). You will not be disappointed after tolerating all those dangerous dry waterfalls you had to conquer risking your life to get there. When you've finally arrived! It's a Champagne moment for a toast or when we raise both arms straight up the sky and scream "Finally oh my God!" Hahahaha... Can't help reminiscing on a famous scene associating the raising of both arms by Willem Dafoe in the movie Platoon, anyway... :) You really have to hike there when it's raining season and when there's water pouring down the waterfall into a pond. Today no H2O flowing down the waterfall, the pond was dry, shrubs and ground cover dead (disappointing). I'm learning now that there's actually more challenging dry waterfalls at BWC #11 that make it more fun, if you're really into free soloing? Encountered: 37 total dry waterfalls Difficult ones were... yellow route = 10,14*,17* red route = 3*, 4*, 5*, 9, 15*, 19*, 20* - not labeled on this YouTube video " * " indicates: scary and dangerous [note] towards the end of this short film where I'm panning from left to right where the rock pond is visible, it's that dry waterfall on the left of the pond, that is number 20. ============================================== Beware: Free soloing is a very dangerous sport, because you are gambling with life and death when rock climbing any dry waterfall. I do not encourage anyone to climb any of these dry waterfalls, because they are very dangerous, and if anyone decides to try it? That's on you! You take full responsibility for making your decision.
