I never liked hospitals! On my own, I'm medicine averse and would rather self-medicate! However, when it comes to Unyara (our 3-year-old baby girl), Daddy knows best! Just realized that everything is a blessing even the peace of mind that we have by admitting into the hospital on Christmas day. 🙏🙏🙏 With power back before Christmas eve (no thanks to #TyphoonOdette for killing the power since December 16), even if Unyara had a fever since Wednesday night (December 22), it was still an awesome Christmas. Because her fever is still outstanding, we had a checkup on the afternoon of December 24. Since fever is a covid symptom, we were requested to have PCR testing/covid test before admission. COVID TEST OPTIONS: 1. Chonghua, Mandaue - rush testing with the result after 2 hours for Php 10,000.00. 2. Cebu Doctors - rush for Php 5,000.00 but at the Cebu City branch. 3. UCMed - result will be at 12 noon on December 25 for Php 3,000.00. I was tempted to take the Chonghua option but it was just too expensive. Cebu Doctor's was way better but when we only took a taxi to UCMed, transferring to a different hospital would have been too hassling for Unyara. Super grateful that UCMed has awesome staff especially the Pedia who handled us last December 24. I can really feel her "extra care". We decided to take the UCMed covid test for Php3k and decided to wait for the result at home! Aside from the Pedia, we were also blessed to be handled by an awesome cashier. She took the time to inquire if Unyara was my dependent. She shared that the 3K can become Php560 if she is my dependent. Lo and behold, she is. I only paid Php560 for the Covid Test. Awesome God! 🙏🙏🙏 Covid test result returned negative on December 25 so we proceeded with admission. Unyara's fever wasn't that high already but we were worried about "dehydration" signs. She would only breastfeed and would not take any liquids. I the hospital, she can have dextrose and we can also check the cause of her fever. 🙏🙏🙏 We stayed at the hospital for 2 days from December 25 to December 27. Thankfully, her fever was only caused by an unknown virus. She was cleared from Covid, Dengue, and UTI. The total bill was 11K. 7K from Maxicare and 4K from Philhealth. The 4k from Philihealth is paid for by us. We were told to follow up on the refund after 3 months.
