No matter how long ago a sexual assault or harassing behavior occurred, it is still wrong; it is still against the law; it still has lasting emotional effects; and no one, who has the courage to finally reveal it, should be victimized all over again. From age 12 to age 112, the behavior is still illegal, inappropriate, and an act of control. There are real reasons why victims don't come forward. Listen to my own story and the reasons why victims don't report harassment immediately, and in many cases, they don't report it for years or at all for all of the reasons that we are seeing play out in our national dialogue.
