Festival 2008 A tribute to Quincy Jones on his 75th birthday is one of the unforgettable moments of the Festival's 42nd edition. For five hours, more than 60 musicians – from Herbie Hancock to Nana Mouskouri and including Al Jarreau, Patti Austin, Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, Chaka Khan and Joe Sample – celebrate « Q »'s fabulous career. The following day sees the inauguration in his presence of Quincy's bust in the Montreux Palace gardens beside those of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald among others. The edition also features the return of famous artists like Joan Baez, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen as well as performances by Gilberto Gil, Alicia Keys and Madness. Venue par excellence for unveiling talents, the Festival also welcomes Adele, Interpol, The Gossip and Melody Gardot.
