Title: Optomechanics as a versatile tool to probe classical and quantum gravity. Speaker: Prof. Igor Pikovski Chair: Prof. Myungshik Kim Abstract: The advance of optomechanical systems has helped establish a new line of research on the interface between quantum physics and gravity at low energies. In this talk, I will discuss some of the proposed experiments in this field, ranging from tests of quantum gravity models to gravitational wave detection with novel optomechanical setups. After giving a brief overview, I will focus on proposals to probe quantum gravity models with a modified commutation relation that are within reach of optomechanical experiments. About: UniKORN are seminars delivered by pioneering scientists, who are invited to share their unique perspectives and overview of their field of expertise.
