First start of 1979 Ducati Darmah SD900

People have been asking to hear how my bikes sound, so here's a sample. This Darmah had been ridden since new by an old friend. He bought the bike from Keith Harte's shop in Grimsby. In 2001 he dropped a valve on the rear cylinder, parked the bike and never touched it until he sold it to me in January 2022. I worked on refurbishing the brakes/chassis/electrics and installing new tires over the past year. This January I found a used replacement head and had it set up, as well as an NOS piston/ring set. This is a video of the first time starting it once the engine was put back in. Note that the owner was a close friend of Keith's, who made several modifications to the bike. The most obvious are the removal of the electric starter and the use of an early Laverda 200mm Bosch headlight. Looking forward to the coming riding season!
