Vast, remote, mysterious and wild, it hosts a wealth of biodiversity and is the home and breeding ground for hundreds of thousands of marine species despite being one of the most inhospitable places on Earth. Although it remains the only continent without a native human population, human-induced impacts from faraway places have long reached its shores and threaten its vulnerable animal populations. “Edge of the World” follows a dedicated team of staff and scientists aboard the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise on a mission to detect what actually lives there, using novel techniques such as environmental DNA - and how those species might be changing in relation to human activities and climate change during a time when Antarctica logs its highest ever temperature on record.
