TUESDAY, February 3 Marites MacLean will provide an overview of An Act relative to enabling access and empowering early educators, H.255 and share information on how landlord concerns have been addressed in California. Drawing on materials from the Child Care Law Center in California, the session will review common landlord questions related to safety, liability, noise, and property use, and explain how family child care homes are regulated under existing state licensing and health and safety standards. The session will equip advocates with clear talking points that demonstrate how family child care homes are already safely regulated, do not increase landlord liability, preserve existing landlord rights, and strengthen access to child care without altering the residential nature of housing.
