Dutch bluegrass band The Flying Saucer Boys bring this rendition of a classic Flatt & Scruggs tune especially for all you fine folks! Lester Flatt on the guitar and Earl Scruggs on the five string banjo were part of the Father of Bluegrass Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, but left in 1948 to form their own band. Even if you don't hail from the Blue Ridge Mountains (but from the Dutch polders), you can probably connect with the feeling of home. Recorded in Park Frankendael in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on September the 6th 2025. 'How The Flying Saucer Boys came to be? Well, honestly that more or less remains a mystery at this point. And the government definitely does not want you to find out. But rumour has it that one moonlit night in the Spring of 2025 a bright light was observed in the Dutch skies. There is even talk of a circular object floating high above the Lowlands. All we know is from that day a new old time string band was heard in parks, on beaches, any place that could hold a tune. Bringing extraterrestrial energy through to the raw pulse of bluegrass and old-time.' The Flying Saucer Boys are: Jesper Nass - guitar, lead and backing vocals Freek Rohlfs - banjo, lead and backing vocals Sander Kruit - mandolin, lead and backing vocals Pelle Rietveld - upright bass, lead and backing vocals
