The automobile is offered with a wide variety of engines and transmissions. The new modular CMF-B chassis also contributes to the new Clio's increased economy by enabling the first-ever hybrid powertrain option. The E-Tech hybrid drivetrain, which will be available starting in 2020, combines a brand-new 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, a multi-mode transmission, and a 1.2-kWh battery. Although the Clio E-exact Tech's specifications have not been made public, it is claimed that its hybrid system offers "maximum efficiency in usage with class-leading responsiveness, little energy waste, and speedy battery charge when decelerating." The 1.0 SCe and 1.3 TCe normally aspirated petrol engines, as well as the 1.5-liter Blue dCi diesel with an output of 85 horsepower, are all part of the traditional engine range.
