Have you ever started a project that's on a deadline, or one that's really important to you and you're very excited to get it done? That is this job. It's a really cool project and the client who ordered the work is really anxious to get them in his hands for the peak king salmon season here on Lake Michigan. Then, when the package of spoon blanks was opened with great anticipation, they were ALL DEFECTIVE. Every one had burrs around the holes and inside the holes. One was totally clapped out and the rear hole was ragged (there's a joke there and it's fitting lol). My supplier sent me a new batch, but because I was on deadline, I set to working out the issues with the 9 blanks that were usable while I waited for the rush replacements to arrive. Each spoon blank was drilled out, deburred and made ready for the work. Once the initial adversity was overcome, the job became a series of problems to solve and each one was tackled systematically to bring the work to a stunning conclusion. In this video we go over the repairs of the blanks, surface prep, priming, sanding, making glow epoxy, using mica powder, painting, affixing 3D eyes, dotting and striping, and , finally, the fish coat of epoxy resin. It's a lot to cover, but we break it down into easily understandable bits so everyone has a good shot at this type of result. If you like working with your hands, or if you have more time than money, this video is for you. We hope you enjoy it and leave a like, make a comment and subscribe. We're trying to build a positive community that focuses on doing our best, whatever level that may be, overcoming adversity and turning out satisfying results. You'll see it all...trials...tribulations...and ultimate success. #FishingLures #DIYFishingGear #LakeMichiganFishing #EpoxyArt #GlowLure #KingSalmon #LureMaking #CustomTackle #MicaPowder #HandmadeLures #CraftingCommunity #FishingSeason #TackleTips #LurePainting #SpoonBlankFix
