Our Stories. The ACMI Collection

ACMI is the custodian of one of the oldest and most significant Australian collections of the moving image, with over 200,000 items. The collection is a vivid record of Australia’s story, providing windows into how we lived in times gone and allowing us to see those who came before us. The ACMI Collection is a wonderful resource. It can teach our children about social history, it is a valuable cultural source for academics, historians and anthropologists, and is a treasure trove of nostalgic material with which Australians can reminisce and share.
