Discover the World of Competitive Dodgeball is a 6 episode TV series I'm currently producing, as well as ON THE LINE, a full-length documentary on the sport. It's been 2 years in the making, following athletes from scrims to Provincials, Nationals and World dodgeball championships, interviewing some of the top players and coaches, from rookies to vets. The project has grown in the scale and scope of the story being told. What I originally imagined would be some highlight reels put to music with a few interviews, grew into an investigative deep dive into a sport exploding in popularity at global scale. The challenge is turning preconceived ideas about the sport upside down and blowing expectations out of the water, while also educating audiences so they understand and appreciate the complexity of strategy behind the sport. It's also involved writing and recording original music for the project, making the production feel as strategic and complex as the sport itself.
