Dan's Turbo Cortina Roll Racer Project Starts- Episode 1

Hey Everyone, lets a have a look at one of our projects this time in Dan's Aussie Garage. Dann is going to show around his Cortina that he has had for over 20 years now and it going to have a transformation after all these years. He is planning to refresh the engine at present and then move on the other parts of the Cortina to make a Turbo Cortina Roll Racer to use at Wanneroo Raceway at events. He is started with a 250 Cross Flow Engine with Alloy heads and going to mock up the turbo and the intake manifold. So lets get started. The Turbo manifold on the table came off a XC Falcon that one the West Coast Vanners members had laying around. Next to that we have the Pulsar turbo unit and a reconditioned 250 Cross Flow Engine Alloy Head that will be used for the mock up template. We also have a Maxcool Intercooler that need to be fitted the front of the engine bay area. In the engine bay area, we already have the head removed ready for installation, so we need to fit all the components so that our mate Josh can custom make a intake manifold, adapt the Turbo Manifold and make necessary heat shield arrangements. So we have to now remove all the Nitro Equipment in the engine to also get ready for a EFI set up for the engine to perform better. So, a bit of history about the Cortina. Dan brought the car for his wife back in 2001 - 2002 and at the time she was at Universal studying, so she need a run about vehicle that was suitable. Dan had a friend that had the vehicle laying in the back yard doing nothing. When he first saw the Cortina it was blue with Orange door and guard, of course he brought it for $200.00. He start to rebuild the engine just so it was reliable and made it a bit more presentable. Then it came time to decide what they were going to do with the car and they decide to do a full rebuild on the vehicle. Dan's wife's job was to pick to colour and decided to pick hot house green with gold metallic through it. They changed the dark interior from to a light interior. They drove around for a couple years like this and then they refreshed the 200 engine that he stoked, 250 crank shaft, 200 rods, AACL pistons, 10:2:1 compression ratio and had two barrel carby, which was updated to 4 barrel carby. Now the plan is to turn it in a Roll Race and trying to get his wife behind the wheel for bit of fun.
