We always get a lot of questions on how is it possible to detect physical failures in the pump with the help of electrical signals? Vibrations that are caused as a result of pump cavitation “travel” through the axles and coupling to the motor. This, in turn, disturbs the air gap at the motor. These disturbances in the motor cause “wrinkles” on the sine-wave. SAM4 system measures the sine wave and analyzes the patterns (including the “wrinkles”), and with that is able to detect pump cavitation.
