This is a play-through of 1P Battle mode using Nobunaga in the PS1 game Dynasty Warriors / Sangoku Musou. Read on below for more information... Nobunaga is a special boss in the game. He is an unlockable playable character. ===== ABOUT NOBUNAGA ===== He is yet another fighting game character based on the real life historical figure, Oda Nobunaga. In Dynasty Warriors 1 there isn't really an assumed story for him, which makes him a "bonus" character of sorts. As the game's story is set in period China and features Chinese hero and warlord characters, Nobunaga offers a contrast. Gameplay-wise, he is identical to the final boss Lu Bu... there could possibly be some range differences considering that he's slightly smaller than Lu Bu, but I cannot confirm this. As with Lu Bu, he has long ranged strikes albeit with a different weapon, the Naginata. His movelist is the smallest out of all the characters in the game, but he is still highly effective in battle. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- His Stage 8 boss is Zhuge Liang and his Stage 9 boss is Toukichi. ---- He does not have an ending sequence. ===== ABOUT PS1 DYNASTY WARRIORS ===== This is basically the very first game of the Dynasty Warriors / Shin Sangoku Musou franchise, and is the only one in the series being a traditional weapons-based one-on-one versus fighting game. It is inspired by the historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. If I were to loosely describe the general gameplay, I would call it "Virtua Fighter with weapons". The movement and flow of striking is somewhat "rigid" and "stiff", so if you're used to Soul Edge/Calibur and the later Tekkens, you will most likely find this a bit "restricting" if you know what I mean. Overall it's a pretty good game that is nicely rounded off with many modes of play, FMV CGI sequences and a good soundtrack. Know the roots, Dynasty Warriors fans!
