Behaviour Change Communication (The Netherlands Red Cross, childhood pneumonia program)

This is an animated video film that explains clearly, and in a simple and engaging way, the method used for integrating behaviour change communication (BCC) in the 3FM pneumonia programme supported by Netherlands Red Cross in 5 countries: Mali, Cote d´Ivoire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Sudan. This community health programme is aimed at reducing pneumonia in children under 5 years old. The video walks the audience through a process of 7 steps, highlighting key elements of the BCC method that can be replicated in different Red Cross programmes, not only in the health sector but others like water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction and shelter. This method illustrated in the video shares important features of the Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) approach promoted by IFRC and can be used as an example of effective CEA integration.
