An in-depth and complete tour of the home of George and Martha Washington: their beloved Mount Vernon. After living at Mount Vernon as a child, Washington returned to the plantation at the age of 22. Called away many times during his illustrious career, he settled in for the last time at the age of 65, following his two terms as President, and lived there until his death two years later in 1799. Combining excerpts from Washington's diaries, with close-up looks at the furniture and layout of the mansion's many rooms (including those on the third floor, which are rarely seen by the public), viewers get a sense of the man who lived here.
