Decisiv is a cloud-based software-as-a-service that helps trucking fleets large and small drive uptime for their vehicles. However in an industry run more with antiquated computer programs or pen-and-paper processes, gaining adoption from fleet owners was difficult. What’s the saying about old dogs and new tricks? We wanted to get the attention of their user base in several ways: comedy, data visualization, and testimonials. Comedy To gain the attention of Decsiv’s user base is a new and interesting way, Borderline produced a video series using the premise of a “fleet manager’s support group”. These short 2-3 minute narratives highlighted the pain points the fleet manager’s were feeling using their old processes and how Decisiv alleviates their pain. Data Visualization Decisiv’s main value proposition is their ability to limit downtime for your fleet. Less downtime means more hauling, more revenue, less maintenance, less cost, more profit. But, this opportunity cost is difficult to visualize. Using an interesting statistical finding, 80% of the downtime of a truck is wasted back-and-forth on the phone, sending invoices, or ordering parts, we crafted a highly effective infographic of an iceberg. Where fleet managers only see the cost of getting their truck back on the road (above the water), in actuality, the vast majority of the cost is unseen (below the water). This infographic helped sales collateral, trade show designs, marketing material, and videos. Testimonials Decisiv has great customer satisfaction for the fleet managers who have adopted the digital process and their products. Their stories are invaluable when speaking to hesitant customers. Borderline sent a team of producers to fleet service locations in Virginia, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Ohio, Minnesota, and Canada to interview fleet managers first-hand. The videos were shown at trade shows, on landing pages, and their corporate web site to support the sales process. Conclusion Borderline tied all this media together to create a custom wordpress web site to provide a destination for direct email campaigns, in-the-field salespeople, and organic search leads. The web site became the storefront for their entire business and the source for all their materials such as tutorials, videos, and collateral.
